Bird Song Hike, Bolivar Heights Friday, June 16, 2023 @ 9:00 am for all ages and Free!
Register at the front desk or call the library. Sign up begins June 1, 2023 @ 9:30 AM.
Deb Hale, an avid birder, will be leading the hike. Our own Lindsay Amsberry will be on hand to answer questions about the Merlin App.
Meet at Bolivar Heights at 9:00 am. You may park at Bolivar Heights or the Library and walk up the hill to the Heights.
Please allow 90 minutes for the hike. You will be stopping and starting as you look at birds and ask questions.
The hike will take you to Nash Farm (30 minutes), part of the National Park Land Trust. You may choose to go back the trail or walk up the roadway to your vehicle (30 minutes). If your vehicle is at the Library you can walk Cheney St. back to the Library.
Please download the Merlin App days ahead of the hike. You will need to pick a bird pack on the app and we will be using the sound ID. You may want to set up an account with Cornell Labs so you will have complete access to all the features. The Merlin App is free. If you are asked to pay for something don’t proceed. If you need help with the app, call the library.
The difficulty of this hike is moderate. Please wear comfortable hiking footwear, sunscreen, bug spray, binoculars, and a smile.
